A 25-YEAR-OLD ST MICHAEL MAN said he had to run for his life when robbers opened fire after attempting to steal his gold chain.

Luckily, the man, whose identity has been withheld because of the sensitive nature of police investigations, received only a gunshot injury to his right elbow and left hip.

Doctors told him he was fortunate that the bullet which pierced his side only damaged the skin.

One of those bullets from the robbers’ gun is believed to have claimed the life of 57-year-old Valdene Patricia Hinds, of Carrington Village, St Michael, who passed away Wednesday night after she was shot at the back of the head while being driven along Barbarees Hill, St Michael on Sunday night.
