AFTER AN eight-year hiatus, the St Michael Bodybuilding and Physique and Fitness Project is back and has already piqued the interest of past winners in the bodybuilding category.
At a media briefing yesterday to announce details of the competition, which is set to be staged at the DLP Auditorium on June 25 at 6 p.m., public relations officer of the organising committee, Neville Clarke, said the reintroduction of the event should work well for competitors.
“You have the nationals, but there are very few shows that bodybuilders can get ready for and be in top shape and, for this reason, we thought it was necessary that we bring back another show that they can compete in and get themselves ready and more accustomed to competing, because when they go outside they have to compete against persons who compete much more than they do,” he said.
The competition will have an open category, men’s bodybuilding, bikini fitness, body fitness, men’s physique and the novice competitions and organisers are expecting 60 competitors in all categories. (RG)
