WITH BOB MARLEY’S Redemption Song softly playing from a cellphone a small group of mourners gathered around a wooden casket at the
St John cemetery yesterday to bury a man who presumably died six years ago.
Adinah Callender, popularly known as “Miss Africa” on radio call-in-programmes, finally committed the remains of her son Wayne Callender, who went missing in 2010 but whose skeletal remains were found in 2013.
Callender, of Bissex, St Joseph, had resisted burying her son even though the remains were positively identified through dental records, until the police determined how he died because she was convinced that foul play had befallen him.
