LAST year’s winners Jeff Panton and Mike Fennell of Jamaica have taken an early lead as pairs went into the post lunch session of the 2016 Sol Rally Barbados, yesterday.

 At press time, the two men, behind the wheel of a Rubis/Sandals Ford Focus WRC, had scored two outright wins as ten stages were completed and had a total elapsed time of 22 minutes, 32.18 secs.

The former double European champion French Simon Jean-Joseph and co-driver Jack Boyere, although scoring four stage wins, were second overall with a total elapsed time of 22 mins, 44. 87 secs.

The British pair of Rob Swann and Aled Edwards were third fastest with a time of 23 mins, 00.67 secs and ahead of the Msport WRC points leader Elfyn Evans and Craig Parry in a Ford Focus with an elapsed time of 23 mins, 03.81 secs.
