LESS THAN three weeks before the start of the Caribbean Premier League (CPL), there is still no word on the venue for the final.

Organisers are still to finalise negotiations with the bidding parties and before making a choice for the showpiece match of the June 29 to August 7 tournament, they want to ensure everything was in place.

In an interview with WEEKENDSPORT, CPL chief operating officer Pete Russell said it was somewhat frustrating that they had not yet been able to pick a venue.

“We’re obviously very keen to announce the final as quickly as we can but as you can appreciate, it is a very important decision for the CPL. It’s our flagship event of the tournament. For us, it is very important that we get the right partner there,” Russell said. (HG)
