UWI flog Wanderers

LAST YEAR’s triple crown champions Sagicor UWI are one step closer to another title after demolishing CounterPoint Wanderers by 136 runs in the quarter-finals of the Sagicor General Twenty20 competition at the 3Ws Oval on Wednesday night.

UWI released their hungry batsmen on the toothless Wanderers bowlers to amass 225 for five from their 20 overs at a run rate of 11.25 an over.

Shell-shocked from the onslaught of the Caribbean students, Wanderers put up no fight to limp to 89 for 8 after their 20 overs.   

UWI are clearly in a league of their own bolstered by their many Caribbean cricketing students under the astute leadership of player-coach Floyd Reifer.
