SUNDAY NIGHT’S gun violence that left two teenagers nursing injuries in Scott’s Terrace, Grazettes, St Michael, was a first, residents said.
They want it to be the last.
The drive-by shooting sent good friends Kimani Grant, 19, and Miguel Scantlebury, 17, to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital (QEH). They were liming on the steps of the Grants when Kimani was shot in the mid-section, while Scantlebury was hit in the back. He was later discharged but Grant remained hospitalised.
When a DAILY NATION team visited the area yesterday, Macdonald Huggins, a long-time resident, said he wanted the gun violence to end.
“This has to stop! What people shooting one another for? Over what? A woman, over drugs, over money? All we got to dead so what are we fighting for? Let we start to unite; the white people glad that we killing one another,” he said. (TSG)
