The casualties were Johnson Charles (0), Darren Bravo (15) and Andre Fletcher (9).
Australia’s new ball pair of Mitchell Starc and Josh Hazelwood have been impressive, bowling an impeccable line and length and gaining assistance from a surface with some bounce.
Charles fell to the day’s fourth ball from a loose stroke that resulted in a catch to second slip off Starc.
After a fine straight drive off Hazlewood, Bravo was the victim of an outstanding one-handed diving slip catch by Australia captain Steve Smith.
Fletcher, who took 13 balls to score his first run, gave a catch to gully off Starc from a ball that bounced more than he bargained for.
Marlon Samuels (4) and Denesh Ramdin (2) are trying to consolidate for West Indies.
