NEWCOMER JOAQUIN isn’t intimidated to appear last on stage at the Sweet Soca semi-finals next Friday. He even isn’t worried that he appears after Peter Ram.

“I know I got what it takes. So I’m going to push for it and make sure I do my best,” said the 22-year-old at the National Cultural Foundation (NCF) headquarters in West Terrace, St James earlier when the artistes and their representatives gathered to draw positions for both the Sweet Soca and Party Monarch semi-finals.

The semifinalists in the Sweet Soca competition were the first to know their fates. After meeting with NCF officials and signing their contracts, they all drew numbered balls to see how they would appear at Kensington Oval.
