AN EXPERIENCED SOCIAL WORKER feels Barbados has reached the stage where urgent action is required to pull it back from chaos.
George Griffith, a former executive director of the Barbados Family Planning Association, said this was because of the myriad issues affecting young people.
“It is to be regretted that our young people and their concerns have been the subject of not only prolific lip-service, but in my professional judgment has been at times trivialised and grossly misunderstood,” Griffith said.
He has termed the prevailing problems as a last opportunity and warned that unless remedied, “we could very well be inadvertently ushering in that tipping point when our beloved country descends into an unspeakable period of social, economic and community chaos”. (ES)
