BARBADOS LOST their final international warm-up football match to St Lucia 3-2 at the Wildey AstroTurf on Tuesday but the hopes are still high of winning the Caribbean Football Union’s Under-17 Caribbean Cup.
The Barbados team took the lead in the early exchanges of the first half with Nigel Griffith striking a lovely goal in the seventh minute.
Though there was a lengthy period without a goal, the St Lucian team finally equalised in the 38th minute through Bryant Polius.
Barbados, however, had no intention of giving up and went ahead with a second goal a minute after from Kdeson Trench to lead 2-1 at half-time. (ROG)
