THE UNIVERSITY of the West Indies (UWI) Academy of Sport has selected suitably qualified applicants to become certified football coach educators.
On Tuesday, 22 participants started the two-week course. It is being conducted in partnership with the Belgium Football Association and the Caribbean Football Union (CFU) and candidates will be exposed to the latest and most modern coach education methodologies and practices by expert instructors from Europe.
Successful participants will assist the university in the delivery of coach education courses throughout the Caribbean.
In the opening ceremony on Tuesday at the Academy of Sport, CFU first vice-president Cheney Joseph said he hoped the project would be sustained for many decades to come. (JC)
