THE FAMILY OF slain fish boner Caroline Forde is upset they were not informed by authorities of the status of the trial of her killer – and they want someone held accountable.
Shellyann Forde, the last of eight children born to Forde, who was stabbed to death in 2013, told the DAILY NATION from her Bushy Park, St Philip home yesterday that she and other members of her family were made aware of events in the case after receiving a phone call alerting them that the man who pleaded guilty on Tuesday to killing their mother, Garnet Brome, had been released on bail.
“Someone call this [yesterday] morning and tell we to buy the newspaper, that we mother case in it, and that is how we find out,” Shellyann said. “You don’t think that we should be notified that the case start?
“After the person called and after reading it, it just bring back memories and have me offset. And we was real upset to hear the part that he was granted $100 000 bail since February, and no one tell us that the case was starting. He could get out and come back here and we wouldn’t know. (RA)
