THE DUO of Leadpipe & Saddis will hit the stage first in the Party Monarch competition at the MQI/98.1 The One Soca Royale.

The first-timers are among eight other artistes who will do battle come Sunday, July 24. There are six former Party Monarchs, a two-time Calypso Monarch and a former People’s Monarch in the line-up.

But the two are confident they have what it takes to take the No.1 spot count.

“We feel like No.1. No.1 is the real deal. With God’s grace everything will go smooth. Preparations for Soca Royale are coming along sweet, everything sweet,” the duet said.

Leadpipe & Saddis will be followed by reigning Party Monarch Peter Ram, who was not present for the draw. Instead, Simone Tull stood in for him.
