Mixed feelings on Market

SPEIGHTSTOWN VENDORS are still hoping one day to see lines of traffic on the lower end of the town.

Even with the recently held Speightstown Market and Pan Around De Town events, proprietors had mixed feelings about what they meant for their businesses.

Caretaker at the Omni Mall, Keith Cumberbatch, said the National Cultural Foundation and Barbados Tourism Product Authority (BTPA) events did help to bring more traffic and vibrancy to the area.

“This reminds of the past when people would come down and shop and when out here was lively,” he said. He was hoping, however, to see more buses and a state agency set up in the quaint northern town.
