HENDY SPRINGER is back among the big boys.
The long-standing Barbados head coach has been appointed West Indies assistant coach for the four-Test series against India starting today at the Vivian Richards Cricket Ground in Antigua.
“It feels very good. I’ve been out for a couple of seasons. It’s similar to a player going back into a West Indies team or any other major team,” Springer told NATIONSPORT yesterday.
“You go there to play and to help the cause. I’m there to assist and help with the continued development of cricket.”
It is Springer’s second stint in the role, having previously held the position a few series, including the 2007 World Cup in the Caribbean. (HG)
