JULY 21, 2016 shall be remembered by some and want to be forgotten by others. It was in night-time hours that we heard from the nominee of the American Republican Party, for President, Donald J. Trump.
In his speech he seemed to have appointed himself, as one commentator put it and I paraphrase, “like a caped crusader swooping in to save the city America”.
It reminded me of a local leader who apparently believes that the concept of a caped crusader allows one to see more.
Both Trump and the local leader really see less, I suggest, for it is the people who put them there, not merely their own effusion.
The problem is that they may both have graduated from the university of “Me” and qualified as “I-Specialist”. Donald J. Trump is of course an honours graduate.
