Plan in place to fix all parks, says Neblett

THE PICTURESQUE BARCLAYS PARK will not be allowed to run into further ruin.

In fact, no national park will remain an eyesore, general manager of the National Conservation Commission (NCC), Keith Neblett, is promising.

The commission’s top man admitted the popular St Andrew park was currently in bad condition in certain areas, and said that was so because of the tough weather conditions on the Atlantic ocean-swept East Coast which constantly battered any benches they put down.

According to Neblett, not even heavy concrete structures are immune to Mother Nature, and that has kept them on their toes.

In last week’s edition of the SUNDAY SUN, the poor condition of Barclays Park was highlighted, showing a number of badly damaged benches. (BA)
