THE SPECTACULAR CELEBRATION of Sir Garry Sobers’ 80th birthday is just hours away and hundreds of cricket fans have already gobbled up all of the tickets for both the Greenidge & Haynes and Three Ws stands.
Barbados Cricket Association’s (BCA) director of cricket, Steven Leslie, told the DAILY NATION, that tickets are being bought fast and furious for tonight’s T20 international match which will feature former stars Brian Lara, Sir Curtly Ambrose, Courtney Walsh, Wasim Akram, Collis King, Ezra Moseley, Arjuna Ranatunga, Sherwin Campbell and Pedro Collins.
“The tickets are going well and all of the major stands will be open. My latest information is that only Party Stand tickets and a few from from the Hewitt and Inniss along with the Hall and Griffith are available,” adding that the Party Stand will be operational.
The match starts at 7 p.m. and the gates will be open at 5 p.m. Ticket booths will open at 9 a.m.
Leslie said that everything has been done to “put on the finest show” to honour the great Barbadian and National Hero. (MK)
