NO TURF. No problem.
Looks like the Barbados Hockey Festival will do just fine after all, even without the new artificial surface, as the country’s premier hockey competition has attracted more foreign teams than last year’s edition.
Chairman of the festival committee, David Rouse, disclosed seven overseas squads confirmed their participation for the August 21-27 festival after the tournament featured just two teams from outside Barbados a year ago.
“I think we’re more or less back on the rise and heading back to a high because the word is getting out that we have back a turf although it won’t be in use for this year’s festival,” said Rouse. (JM)
