ON A NIGHT when four women were competing in the MQI/Mount Gay Pic-O-De-Crop Finals, their biggest fan was in the crowd rooting for them – Queen Rita.

The island’s lone female kaiso monarch was among the thousands at Kensington Oval as nine calypsonians tried their best to dethrone Classic.

The four women – TC, Donella, Aziza and Chrystal Cummins-Beckles – all gave good showings in the first half. The other five contestants, MRBLOOD, AC, Adonijah, Colin Spencer and iWeb, were also in fine form on a night when the crowd weathered intermittent showers to be part of the action.

Up to press time, the results were unknown. (TTY)
