A DAMPER was thrown over the Crop Over Festival today after it was announced designer Renee Ratcliffe had collapsed and died.
Reports reaching Barbados Nation said Ratcliffe, of Jump Promotions, collapsed on the outskirts of the National Stadium this morning.
She was taken to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital by ambulance where she was pronounced dead some time after 10:30 a.m.
The announcement sent shockwaves among revellers.
Baje International band members paused during their jump to hold a moment of silence in her memory. (BN)
