There was also music, dance and costumes, the output of her creative mind.
There were all the things, except for the dragonflies that bandleader Renée Ratcliffe loved.
Yesterday, her friends returned to the spot where the 40 year-old collapsed on Kadooment Day morning, to honour the memory of the woman, who one of her friends said you heard before you saw.
Veteran bandleader Gwyneth Squires; Kevin Small, designer of this year’s winning Junior Kadooment Band; AJA and Terencia ‘TC’ Coward were among the scores of people who turned up at a hastily put together vigil, held outside the National Stadium last night. There were some of the children who paraded with Ratcliffe’s Junior Kadooment Band, as well as adults who have faithfully jumped with her on Grand Kadooment days. (HLE)
