IN 2017 THERE may be the return of a Cohobblopot-like event.
This was revealed by chief executive officer of the National Cultural Foundation (NCF), Cranston Browne, who was speaking to the MIDWEEK NATION as the festival wound down yesterday with one of its last events, Bridgetown Market, on the Spring Garden Highway.
Browne said the NCF was trying to find a way to return the spectacle of the Queens and Kings of the Masquerade Bands to the Crop Over calendar.
He added that apart from this, there really was no other foreseeable addition that could be made to the Sweetest Summer Festival.
“The only thing we are looking at trying to bring back is the masquerade Kings and Queens. That is an event that we are looking and hope to get back next year,” he said. (HLE)
