THE UNDER-21 Barbados team, Bajan Gems, still have some work to do if they are to qualify for the AFNA World Youth Netball Cup.
But despite being beaten by a combined clubs teamin a practice match at the Netball Stadium on Wednesday evening, their fight was an admirable one.
A combined team of C.O. Williams Rangers and Guardian General Pride of Villa walked away with a 45-39 win against the Under-21 team after the youngsters bounced back to reduce an embarrassing shortfall.
For the combined clubs, Nikita Payne netted 25 of her 30 attempts to pilot the team to victory, while Latonya Blackman supported, scoring 15 of 17 attempts. (RG)
