WITHOUT EVEN TAKING to the field, Barbados has already scored its first win at the Rio Olympics.
And that’s thanks to fashion designer Pat Brathwaite, who designed Team Barbados’ outfits for the 2016 Games.
Friday night, as the world watched the opening ceremony of the 31st Olympiad, Team Barbados took to the stage, smartly outfitted in yellow blazers.
While many of the 280 000 Barbadians were glued to their screens, Team Barbados’ outfits were turning heads around the world, with the group being voted as one of the best dressed.
“I would say this is great. Because this is not only for me, it’s for Barbados,” an excited Brathwaite told the SUNDAY SUN on hearing the news that American news outlets The Huffington Post and USA Today deemed Barbados one of the best dressed.
