THE GEMS had the better of the queens at the Netball Stadium on Friday night.
The Under-21 Bajan Gems unleashed a 56-29 whipping against a Combined Clubs team made up of present and former Division 1 champions.
Though the Bajan Gems could have been a bit tighter in their execution on court they made a statement, defeating a combined team of reigning Division 1 champions UWI Blackbirds and former queens Pine Hill Dairy St Barnabas who were quite defenceless until the third quarter.
The Bajan Gems’ 27-goal thrashing was led by Shonica Warton, who netted 22 of 27 attempts; however, she was heavily assisted by Shaquilla Davis and Sheniqua Thomas, who scored 17 of 20 and 17 of 25, respectively. (RG)
