NORTHERN STAR made it a triple treat for Victor Cheeseman at the Garrison Savannah yesterday.
One of the pre-race favourites, Northern Star won the 2016 Massy United Insurance Derby after an impressive ride from jockey Antonio Bishop.
It gave trainer Cheeseman a third successive triumph in the prestigious race, following victories in 2014 and 2015.
Kangaroo Jack, with Affri Ward in the saddle, was the front-runner for most of the race before Northern Star stormed through in the closing stages.
