ST MARK’S PRIMARY SCHOOL will benefit from refurbishment before the new school term begins in September.

This has been revealed by the Ministry of Education, through a Barbados Government Information Service (BGIS) release.

It was in response to an article carried in last Thursday’s DAILY NATION in which a past student of the St Philip school said a visit by Governor General Sir Elliott Belgrave had to be rearranged for a nearby community centre back in April because of the poor physical conditions at the rural school.

A source at the school had claimed that when Sir Elliott’s aide-de-camp conducted an inspection beforehand, concerns were expressed about some of the physical conditions that could have posed a problem for the octogenarian. (HLE/BGIS)
