Taxi driver in need of home

A 68-YEAR-OLD taxi driver is now searching for somewhere to call home after a fire gutted his residence at Rutland Lane, the Pine, St Michael, almost two weeks ago.

Adolphus Barnes, who was speaking to the DAILY NATION in the burnt out shell of his former home yesterday, said he was out when the fire occurred on the night of August 4.

“I was out on the road when I got the call telling me that my house was on fire. So I turned around to come back here and shortly after that, I got two calls telling me the same thing. On my way here, fire trucks passed me blazing up the road. When I got here, the shed was completely burnt and the house itself had started to burn,” he said.

He said a woman who was subletting one of the two bedrooms, shared the house with him.(RA)
