DWAYNE BRAVO was a champion yesterday.
The livewire allrounder, who has a knack of making things happen at vital stages, held his nerve and produced some magic to bowl West Indies to a dramatic one-run victory over India in a Twenty20 International.
In a match that produced 489 runs, the most ever in any T20 contest, India required two runs off the final ball to overhaul West Indies’ 245 for six at the Central Broward Regional Park in Fort Lauderdale, Florida.
With the tension mounting, Bravo opted to deliver a slower ball and India captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni ended up slicing it to third-man where Marlon Samuels gobbled up the catch to give West Indies the thrilling win. (HG)
