GAIA under fire from visitors

VISITORS are writing negative comments about their experience at the Grantley Adams International Airport (GAIA) on a website called barbados.airport-authority.com, but local airport officials are distancing themselves from the website.

Keith Goddard, corporate communications specialist at the airport, told the SUNDAY SUN: “Our official website is  www.barbadosairport.com.

When asked if they were aware of the other website, Goddard said: “Part of our job is to monitor any online source that has information about the airport.”

The SUNDAY SUN understands that airport officials have been trying to find out who was responsible for the site which appears to have been in existence for the past six years. A source explained: “We did some investigations to find out where the IP was registered and it showed that it originated from one of those Far Eastern countries. It doesn’t represent Grantley Adams Airport Inc. but it seems to be easily found rather than our own website.” (MB)
