AS THE PELAGIC Sargassum seaweed continues to pile up on the island’s beaches, horticulturalists are saying it is the perfect fertiliser for just about anything with roots.
And one businessman feels it’s about time the island starts capturing it offshore and exporting it.
Rowmell Grosvenor of GB Greens Landscaping, made the comments as he addressed an Urban Development Commission’s gardening workshop entitled Greening And Growing For A Healthier Life at the Cave Hill Campus of the University of the West Indies yesterday.
The UDC’s workshop was its way of educating gardeners, horticulturalists and others who were interested in participating in the UDC’s garden beautification competition. It focused not only on lawns and landscaping, but on planting kitchen gardens in limited spaces. (HLE)
