THE TRANSPORT BOARD is readying itself for the new school year, which starts next Monday for students.

Customer service representative Carla Phillips said systems were being put in place to provide transportation for the island’s children to and from the various schools across the country.

“We’re getting our buses in place and we also have the school bus system . . . . So everything should be in place for the start of school,” Phillips said.

Phillips and another colleague was out and about with the Barbados National Council of Parent-Teacher Associations (BNCPTA) yesterday for its Get On Board sensitisation exercise, which took them to several areas including parts of Bridgetown, Oistins, Sheraton, Sky Mall, Dome Mall and Speightstown. (YB)
