Visitor on drug charges

A 32-YEAR-OLD Jamaican national is scheduled to appear in court today on drug charges.

According to Police, Kenneth Shawn Myers has been charged with possession of cannabis, possession with intent to supply, trafficking and importation.

Myers arrived at the Grantley Adams International Airport last Friday and was interviewed by police after clearing Immigration.

A search of his luggage by Customs officials led to the discovery of five packages wrapped in brown tape, in a false compartment of the suitcase.

Upon examination, some 3.4 kilos of cannabis were found in the packages. It has an estimated street value of $ 27 200.

Myers is scheduled to appear at the District ‘B’ Magistrate Court on Monday. (PR/SAT)
