A FLOOD WARNING is in effect for the western and north-western sections Barbados.

This was announced at noon today in a weather bulletin from the director of the Barbados Meteorological Services Hampden Lovell.

“The combination of light winds, strong daytime heating and an abundance of moisture is generating cloudy skies, some moderate to heavy showers and isolated thunderstorms over the northern half of the island.

These conditions are expected to persist throughout the afternoon,” the bulletin said.

Residents in flood prone areas should exercise caution and remain on the alert. (PR/NB)
