BARBADOS LABOUR PARTY (BLP) candidate for St Philip West, John King, has chastised the Democratic Labour Party (DLP) Government for not meeting the basic needs of the average Barbadian.

He singled out the Ministry of Finance and Ministry of Agriculture during a constituency meeting on Sunday at Gordon Walters Primary School, St Patrick’s, Christ Church.

“Leaders accept responsibility and we need persons to accept responsibility. It is the responsibility of every right-thinking Barbadian to be his or her brother’s keeper.

“It is also the responsibility of the Government to meet the basics . . . of these loyal sons and daughters, [so] I find it distasteful [that] continuously members of Parliament are standing up and saying to the Barbadian people, ‘I ain’t got nothing to do with it’,” he said. (TSG)
