Government hosts LGBTI sessions

WITH CONTINUED COMPLAINTS of stigma and discrimination against members of the lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and intersex (LGBTI) community, authorities have targeted business operators in the hope of creating a more inclusive work environment.

They are also pushing for the establishment of a code of conduct to deal with HIV-related stigma and discrimination within workplaces.

Issues relating to the LGBTI community took centre stage yesterday during the first of two awareness and sensitisation workshops for media workers and members of the business community.

It was held at Government’s Warrens, St Michael Office Complex. (WILLCOMM)
