MISS UNIVERSE BARBADOS franchise says it is running a clean show.

National director of the local franchise, Brian Green, told the DAILY NATION that his company, Crown Events Inc., which produced the show last Saturday night, will fully cover winner Shannon Harris financially when she travels to compete at the international Miss Universe show in Manila, Philippines, next January.

Green made reference to former franchise holders who might have run less than stellar events and being unable to provide the winner with the best.

“A lot of times what happened before was the franchises were running around . . . . Not to be disrespectful to the former franchises because everyone runs their business differently, [but] this team is not dependent on this franchise to pay our rent. We all actually have real jobs, so we can take the money from this franchise and put it back into this franchise,” he said. (TSG)
