DARYL CLARKE is at the top of the Barbados Rally Club’s standings in the race for the champion drivers’ title.

Driving the Roberts Manufacturing/Amir’s Chicken/Valvoline/MQI Collision Repair Honda Civic, he took over the position after scoring his fifth consecutive Modified 2 class win in the club’s recently held Summer Nights Rally.

Clarke’s task was made easier as a number of other fancied drivers suffered various problems that started when former points leader Josh Read retired early in his Toyota Starlet and Jamal Brathwaite’s Honda Civic Type-R plunged into a well.

Clarke now has 100 points, one more than M1 points leader Neil Corbin, in a Toyota Starlet, making the final event, the double-header Winter Sprint on October 2 even more important. (TT)
