THE CLEMENT PAYNE MOVEMENT is lobbying for a United Nations International Day Against Terrorism.
And its head, David Comissiong, wants that day commemorated on the same day the Cubana Flight 455 was blown out of the sky on October 6, 1976.
Comissiong made the disclosure as he addressed a media conference to announce this year’s week of activities to remember the 73 victims who perished when the Cubana plane went down in the waters off Payne’s Bay, St James.
The week of activities will not only include the annual commemoration at the Cubana Monument on October 6, but a panel discussion on Wednesday, October 5; the launch of a Cubana photo and book exhibition on October 4; a presentation to secondary and tertiary school students on October 5 and a free concert on October 8.
