Police find man dead in George Street

POLICE ARE INVESTIGATING the circumstances surrounding the unnatural death of a man found at George Street, Belleville, St Michael this morning.

A police mobile unit was travelling in the area around 2:10 a.m. when officers saw the motionless body of a man lying on the road.

Police say the man appeared to have severe head trauma.

Motorists were advised to travel alternative routes since Belmont Road and George Street would be closed to facilitate investigations.

Anyone who can provide any information to assist with these investigations are asked to contact the police emergency number 211, Crime Stoppers at 1-800 –TIPS (8477), or the nearest police station.
