THAT SURE was easy.

Neither Mark “Venom” Griffith nor Kim Holder had to work up a sweat to advance in the Barbados Public Workers’ Cooperative Credit Union’s Monarchs Of The Court after their opponents were no-shows for Wednesday’s round of 16 road tennis action.

Waiting to see Griffith in the night cap at the Flow Wildey courts, the crowd was informed after 9 p.m. that the feature match was called off due to Andy “Black Dog” Richards’ apparent knee injury.

Holder, the women’s No. 1 and heavy tournament favourite, was also stood up when Shernelle Cumberbatch failed to turn up at the venue.

Emar Edwards didn’t break a sweat either, although the young crowd favourite actually had to take to the court against Julian “Snake” Quimby. (JM)
