‘Lil man’ the boss

THE “Lil Man” is back big time.

So much for Antonio “Lil Man” Daniel looking rusty. Road tennis’ big crowd-pleaser has certainly brought the show to the Barbados Public Workers’ Cooperators Credit Union’s Monarchs Of The Court.

Earlier written off by some of the younger players and pundits, Daniel has cast aside any doubts over his status as a title contender just like the opponents.

And he gave them a timely reminder of his ability and flare for the dramatic on Friday at the Flow Sports Club hardcourts with sweet forehand passes like this one against a hapless Michael Jean on the way to a 21-13, 21-18 victory that earned him a place in tonight’s quarter-finals. (HG)
