Lovell wins more medals

BARBADOS’ most decorated senior athlete has added more medals to her Huntsman Senior Games tally after reaching the podium in her ten events in Utah.

Competing in her 13th straight games, Ainsley Lovell won four golds – 400 metres, 800m, 1 500m and race walk – to go along with four silver medals in the 200m, 3 000m, long jump and 3 000m race walk in the women’s 60-64 division.

She also added a pair of bronze medals in the 5K walk and broad jump.

Overall, team Barbados captured 46 gold medals, 27 silvers and 14 bronze medals over four days after dominating track and field, cycling and lawn tennis. (JM)
