THE National Sports Council (NSC) hasn’t neglected its facilities, says interim chief executive officer Jerry Blenman.

He outlined a number of steps the NSC has taken over the past year to maintain hard courts, playing fields and pavilions across the country.

Blenman detailed the efforts in a statement issued through the Government Information Service in response to last month’s two-part SUNSPORT series that highlighted the lack of remedial work done at ten sporting facilities.

According to Blenman, the NSC bought a new tractor and two commercial drive mowers while retrofitting other tractors “to correct a situation where only one tractor was available to service the wide range of fields”. (JM)
