THE KIDS haven’t come of age just yet.

Veterans Mark “Venom” Griffith and Curtis Jones set up yet another titanic road tennis semi-final after earning contrasting victories over youngsters Emar Edwards and Dario Hinds, respectively, at the Barbados Public Workers’ Cooperative Credit Union Monarchs of the Court.

Playing at the old LIME Wildey courts on Saturday, Jones had to claw his way back from a game down to outlast Hinds 16-21, 21-17, 21-19 before the top-ranked Griffith made light work of Edwards in a routine 21-11, 21-15 victory.

It was the third time in as many matches that Jones was forced to go the distance after also losing the first sets against Davian “Forceripe” Taylor and Victor “Earth” Ward. (JM)
