WITH THE theme Pride. Industry. People: St Joseph Uh Come From, the Joseph Parish Independence Committee will be hosting a T20 celebrity cricket match on Saturday at the Grantley Adams Memorial School between Starcom Network/Nation Publishing and the Community Independence Celebrations Secretariat Celebrity cricket team.

The match starts at 7 p.m. and is one of the activities during Pork Lime Rum Fest Family Fun Day.

Activities begin at 4 p.m. with the finals of the Josephine Road Tennis Tournament and will include a variety of Bajan culinary delights such as pudding and souse, fish cakes and roast breadfruit.

Adults can also enjoy a variety of rums along with calypso and spouge music, while children can look forward to face painting, lucky dips and jumping tents.

The cricket match will see Nation and Starcom personalities such as Ronnie Clarke, Haydn Gill and Anthony Greene from the Combined Stars team competing against celebrities like St Joseph MP Dale Marshall, Minister of Sports Stephen Lashley and attorney Andrew Pilgrim.

“The grounds of the Grantley Adams Memorial School will be transformed into an old-time Bajan village where patrons will be transported to the good old days,” said head of marketing and corporate communications for the Nation Group, Valerie Hope.

“We encourage everyone to come out and support this fundraising drive for the St Joseph community.” (PR)
