One gets bail, one to jail

ONE WAS REMANDED to HMP Dodds and the other got bail when two brothers appeared in court today to answer drug charges.

Roger Alex Smith, 40, and 33-year-old Rommel Anwar Smith of Parish Land, Christ Church, were charged with possession of cannabis, possession with intent to supply, trafficking and cultivation.

According to a police release, a search warrant was executed on Monday at Roger’s residence. Both brothers were present.

Police found 30 cannabis plants and a quantity of loose cannabis weighing 741.83 grams.

Rommel was also charged with possession of one round of ammunition.

When they appeared in District ‘B’ Magistrate Court on Wednesday, the brothers both pleaded not guilty to the charges.

Rommel was remanded to reappear in court on November 9, while Roger was granted $3 000 bail with one surety, to return to court on the December 7, 2016. (PR/SAT)
