TWO products of the annual Guardian Group Herman Griffith National Sports Council’s (NSC) Primary Schools’ Cricket Competition have highlighted the positive impact the competition has had on their development.
Barbados wicketkeeper Mario Rampersaud and West Indies Under-19 all-rounder Shamar Springer both praised the role of the tournament while speaking at the launch of this year’s competition at the Guardian Group, Collymore Rock office yesterday.
Describing it as a great honour and esteemed privilege to speak on behalf of those who have played the tournament, Rampersaud said the experience helped develop him into the person he is today.
“My journey first started at the National Sports Council when I was eight or nine years old. Guardian Group sponsoring Herman Griffith is very important. . . (HG)
